Broken Dishes

My favorite baking pan has broken...my pretty FireKing Philbe glass utility pan. :(
Worse, I have no idea why - I though vintage glass was actually better than modern for random breakage problems? I set it on the porch last night for Jack to clean out the chicken fat leftovers and Husband found it like this when he left for work. Oh, well. I'll just pull out one of its ugly Pyrex cousins to use instead. :P

I don't know why it bothers me so much to lose it. I didn't think I was particularly struggling with love of material possessions - but I feel a twinge of sadness to see this pan useless and broken. It really was one of my favorite pans - and just the right size for almost anything! I love that particular type of glass, too: FireKing's Philbe Sapphire Blue Glass. I have a pie pan in the same pattern. It's from the 1940's and its just so pretty! It's not super expensive either - I'm looking at eBay for a replacement. I can't quite remember, but I'm thinking I found that pan (a 6x10'' Utility Pan) at a GCF thrift store for a few dollars.

Goodbye, Favorite Glass Baking Dish, I will miss you (at least until I can find a replacement.) ;)
