My very first quilt completed, a
Baby Lattice Quilt (pattern by Amy Smart):
I realized that I never did put up pictures of it completed - I finished it earlier this month whilst in the mountains. I had finished piecing a couple months ago, then got terribly paralyzed about free-motion quilting with my Bernina. But I kicked myself into gear, practicing on a few scraps then giving it a What the Heck Just DO It afternoon, I managed to turn out a far from perfect, but most definitely quilted quilt! Each block is different, as I learned to maneuver and try to make the quilt move the way my fingers wanted the design to go. It was herky-jerky at points, lemme tell you. Many of the stitches are
quite uneven. And I ripped out more than I care to remember. I think it was one of the most stressful things I've ever tried on my beloved Bernina...perhaps next time it'll be easier. O.o But at the end of the day, no one really notices all the little imperfections. The overall appeal of this particular quilt is that of color, not the perfection of its quilting. I made it for my babies anyways. :D

| My best and favorite block. (Oh, dear, such a long way to go, though!) |

| But see, isn't the back side lovely, too? All the squirrely blocks of quilting add up to a nice close "stipple" effect in the back! |
