Almost Ready

Sort of like that moment when you smell the tantalizing aroma of bread baking , but know that there's still a few more minutes to jitter about waiting for the moment you can pull it out of the oven, golden brown and beautifully cooked through.

That moment of smelling the bread-nearly-done is exactly what the end of today feels like.

Running water: check. Septic: check. Electricity: can be completed at a moment's notice (probably the day we fully move in.)

The only things remaining are the heating/air conditioning unit to be installed, some form of stairs to be assembled front and rear, and the building company to finish sanding and painting their touch-ups inside --- basically, it could be less than two weeks until we officially move in!

I'm so excited. Husband worked all last night on patrol, came home and laid down for a few minutes, then rolled out of bed and announced that he was getting up. He took back some supplies that weren't the right size to Lowes and spend the morning getting more - coming home with a trailer-load of PVC pipes for the septic and water and huge pressure-treated beams of lumber for the back porch. He and Ron set to work as soon as he was home, and Boromir joined them after he was finished at the Smokehouse. The three of them laid the septic and water pipes and had everything working by late afternoon! The electricity was wired last Saturday when Ferret came to help. So there it is! JP has still to build the porches, but the rest is waiting on others: the heating/a/c company to come out and install our unit and for the builder's crew to come back out to finish the interior.

Almost ready!!!
