Proof that I actually do make what I pin - I found a tutorial through Pinterest on a blog called Sew Mama Sew (done by Made by Rae) for a Spring Ruffle Top.
And I made it. I give you:
A Spring (Maternity) Top by Goldberry
I used some cotton that Arwen and I had cleaned out of Ma's dressing room last summer, both the main and the contrast. I was mildly concerned that it was going to be too outdated (some older cotton prints are really ugly and no amount of finagling will make it pretty) but I didn't feel like using up my gorgeous newer cottons on something I was making for the first time. But I think it ended up rather nice - sort of vintage-y. And it's opaque enough that I don't have to layer under it to make it wearable. (Icky hotness!!) I didn't add the ruffle that the tutorial did, because I know that they look ugly on my arms when I'm preggo-puffy. Overall, I am very pleased, and with a few minor modifications I'll try to make a couple more for wearing this summer. I lengthened it even more than the original instructions, but I think I'll still grow out of it by eight months - next one I will make longer in the front. Which will make it more balanced anyway, since the way it the current pattern hangs, it is longer in the back. Like I said, with a few minor alterations...
See Momma, I can and do make what I pin! Now for the 4000+ pins that I haven't made yet. O.o
