Gift: A Hospital Bag for an Expecting Mother (and Father)

My sister-in-law, when I was preparing to give birth to Sweet Girl, gave me a most wonderful gift: two bags full of all the necessities and niceties I could want for when I went to the hospital. I was so impressed - she had thought of everything I had, plus some special extras that I hadn't. All I had to do was pack clothes and a bit of makeup...anything else I would have thought to bring, she had bought and packed for me!

I now have a copy of her list, and have used it to assemble a hospital bag for my dear friend and her husband when they welcome their little one.

I didn't pay exact attention to the amount I paid altogether, but it isn't quite a set of receiving blankets and a pacifier...just so you're warned. I went all out, because I wanted to:

tooth brush (his and hers)
tooth paste
mouth wash
floss
chap-stick
tic tacs / peppermints
tums
hair brush
ponytails
hair clips
headbands
q-tips
deodorant (his and hers)
perfume
body soap (his and hers)
shampoo / conditioner
new razor
lotion
baby powder
hand sanitizer
nail clippers / nail file / tweezers
Cottonelle Flushable Moist Wipes
olay face wipes
wet ones
wash clothes
bath pouf
flip-flops / slippers
Lansinoh - Soothies Gel Pads
Lansinoh lanolin
favorite candy
favorite snacks
snacks for the husband
drinks (water and something caffeinated - mostly for the husband)

I'm so glad the bag was useful. They are SO much fun to put together. I think I normally spend around $100. Depending on what snacks I pack and where I go. Walmart has the best prices, but Target was lots more travel size items.
I'm looking SO forward to packing bags a bag for myself.:P (And of course Hudson and Samuel.)
