Well, I couldn't find a tutorial for it, but when I started it became much clearer how to do it - it was just a matter of keeping the pieces in order and sewing everything together!

Calculate the number of pieces you will need for your design. In this design, each of the four-patches, bar sets, and white pieces are 7.5'' blocks, and I wanted the borders to match. Of the purple I cut two 8.25'' squares which I then cut on both diagonals, for 8 corner triangles; 20 7.5'' squares; and eight 7 7/8'' squares which I then cut on one diagonal for 16 set-in triangles. I cut ten 7 7/8 squares of white which I then cut on one diagonal, for 20 set-in triangles.

The possibilities of this border are numerous - there are 20 squares, 36 set-in triangles, and 8 corner triangles in this particular pattern.

Lay them out to figure out how each row should be put together (three rows worth are pictured) and sew. Refer to your pattern as needed.

Keep adding rows until your pattern is achieved.

Lay out and line up with the quilt top, pin - matching points and you go - and sew. Press seam .
